Whether your cheering for the Chiefs or Buccaneers the Super Bowl feels different this year. Maybe you are just watching the commericals & halftime show or flipping back and forth to the puppy bowl, one thing we can all agree on is the yummy snacks that come with this American tradition and even more importantly, the cocktails. In this post we will share our top 5 wine cocktails to have for Super Bowl LV.
1. Aperol Spritz – Our personal favorite wine cocktail perfect for any time of day and season in our opinion. Aperol is an aperitif so it’s also good on the stomach to help settle all that those finger foods and snacks during the intense showdown. Grab a larger wine glass and fill with ice add the following:

2 oz. Aperol, fill with processo and add a splash of sparkling water (san pellegrino preferred) add an orange slice, stir and enjoy!
2. Poinsettia – a twist on the traditional brunch cocktail… the mimosa. Unlike popular opinion I prefer my mimosa straight up – hold the juice just champagne. However this twist gives the sharper taste I enjoy with my champagne.

Fill your champagne glass with half sparkling wine then top with cranberry juice – ensure both are chilled – cheers!
3. French 75 – This is Carmen’s go to evening cocktail, but really is perfect for any weekend day! Pick up your champagne flute and follow these steps:

1 oz. Gin, 1 oz. fresh lemon juice, 0.5 oz. simple syrup shake over ice. Strain into flute top slowly with Champagne. Dress this with a lemon wedge and maraschino cherry.
4. Negroni Sbagliato – Traditional Negroni is made with gin, however Sbagliato means mistake in italian. This cocktail has a twist using prosecco instead of gin. You can thank bartender Mirko Stocchetti for making this mistake. Use a rocks glass and fill with ice:

1 oz. Campari, 1 oz. sweet vermouth pour into glass and stir. Top with prosecco and stir slowly to maintain bubbles of the prosecco & enjoy!
5. Airmail – This refreshing cocktail is named after modern method of delivery by mail, although no one is sure why. For us its the perfect refreshing drink for game day. Use a highball glass fill with ice and follow the steps below:

1.5 oz rum, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz orange juice, dash of honey shake over ice. Strain into glass top with Champagne and serve.
Lose the Booze? With any cocktails above that just contains sparkling wine substitue for lemonade or ginger ale.
Enjoy the game, eat well and more important drink well!
