Brenner’s Wine Fest

With spring in the air, along comes festivals as well; whether thats a crawfish boil in the south, dressing up in your most hipster chic outfit for Coachella, or our personal favorite, Wine Festivals. We went to our first Wine Festival last year together at Brenner’s on the Bayou and this year got to experience it again.

Each Ticket comes with a wine glass, and unlimited wine tastings. (Yes, unlimited!)

Brenner’s Wine Fest is an annual event where the restaurant Brenner’s on the Bayou hosts the Wine Festival where Houstonians come and enjoy a wide variety of award winning wines, featuring delicious chef-crafted bites from the top restaurants in Houston, and live music. All of this is along the canal of the Buffalo Bayou, the Wine Fest is the perfect place to get your wine game on! This event takes place every year in April and tickets are $89 for general admission. With a ticket comes unlimited wine tastings, small bites, desert and a wine glass to take home. If you would like to upgrade to VIP for $150, you get early admission and access to the VIP room inside that features premium selections, on-site winery representatives to answer questions and additional food prepared specifically for VIP guests.

With so much wine, where do you start?

How to Survive your First Wine Festival

  1. Hydrate. Hydrate. Hydrate. With so many samples to chose from and especially in the Houston heat, it is critical you load up on water the day prior and day of. While at the festival each tent also has bottles of water available (we made the mistake of not drinking enough water our first year, that mistake was not made this year!).
  2. Eat a big meal prior to going. This one is critical even though there is food at the event we would highly recommend having a large Houston brunch before starting your early evening at the Wine Fest. With the amount of wine you will be indulging, eating comes to be a must.
  3. Bring a Fun Date! Of course you are here to enjoy wine but your company is even more important. Drinking, eating, dancing and standing around with a bunch of people means you need an even more enjoyable date. Ensuring you have a fun date helps when you are socializing to others who are attending the wine festival as well.
  4. Blanket & Sunscreen. With all the sunshine, be sure to stock up on the sunscreen and bring a blanket so you can lay on the hillside and relax with your wine while listening to the music. This comes in handy after you have spent a few hours already at the festival and been to multiple tents. Sometimes we all benefit from a little relaxation on the hillside.
  5. UBER – Parking here is terrible and although there is valet with all the Wine I am sure you will consume, Uber will be your much needed friend.
